MAFİ (The Journal of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore) will be published from May 2025. The journal is being created under the leadership of the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore of the Khazar University (Khazar MAFI). The journal is intended to publish articles on folklore, literature, language, Turkic studies and cultural anthropology. Our goal is to achieve success in the publication of high-quality philological and cultural-anthropological research, to serve science and to be able to become an intermediary in supporting the publications of observers of the Turkic world.
General principles:
Articles submitted to the journal are reviewed by the editor and, if they comply with the rules, sent to reviewers. Articles that do not comply with the rules will be sent back to the author for revision. Must be resubmitted once all publication requirements have been met. When resubmitting, please consider that the article has been sent a second time.
Before submitting completed articles to reviewers, a plagiarism link will be requested. Articles with a similarity percentage of more than 10% will not be sent to reviewers. Quotes should not exceed 10% per annum. Each article published in the journal will be assigned a DOI number, and all ethical and legal responsibility will belong to the author himself. We would like to emphasize that articles sent to our editorial office must be original. Articles published in other journals are not subject to republication.
The language of articles can be in the languages of all Turkic peoples or in English. Academic articles should not exceed 7,000 words, analytical/discussion/criticism articles should not exceed 4,000 words, and promotional/critical articles should not exceed 2,000 words. The journal is published online, and PDF files are sent to authors after their articles are published.

Articles published in the journal are free. Authors are not charged any fees and authors are not paid.
Scientific and academic goals and principles
The scientific journal “MAFI (Journal of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore)” was created at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore of the Khazar University. The main goal of the journal is to organize the publication of research related to the latest achievements of the sciences of cultural anthropology, linguistics, literature, folkloristics in the modern world and in the Turkic world. The editorial staff of the journal includes specialists in these fields of science.
Other experts will also be involved as reviewers for the MAFI (Journal of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore) journal. The purpose of the journal is to convey to the public the scientific results of researchers who are experts in their field. Requirements for submitted articles are that they should be written under the headings “Introduction”, “Method”, “Result” and, if appropriate, “Discussion”. The “Introduction” part should contain information about the general structure of the problem raised in the article, and the “Method” part should contain information about the method discussed in solving the problem.
As a “result,” one should alternately indicate the methodologically resolved questions and note the usefulness of the result obtained in the article for further research.
